Five weeks with Izzy and a small cohort, practicing how to work with intimacy: from pre-production to aftercare, starting with yourself.
RedCheeks Academy presents Intimacy on Screen · a five-week workshop with Izabela Bartyzel · guest lectures from industry experts and alumni · live calls Tuesdays and Thursdays 6–8 PM CET · January 18 – February 18, 2027 · from €1,250, in full or in monthly installments · apply before December 20
You can’t judge ethics from what’s on screen.
Intimacy has always been part of storytelling, and it’s not going away. So the question isn’t whether we should show it. The real question is: how do we do it right?
How do we film intimate scenes that are emotionally truthful without making the performers carry the cost? How do we protect people’s boundaries while still making bold and honest art?
This isn’t a lecture. It’s a live, hands-on workshop where you learn by doing: you speak, listen, reflect, and practice, and you role play the kinds of conversations that can make or break a safe working environment.
It was built by people who’ve worked behind the camera on adult sets and indie films. We are not here to sanitize or censor. We are here to raise the bar.
For anyone working with intimacy.
On film and stage sets, from staged intimacy to real sex scenes and the blurry line in between, and in any work where intimacy is part of the job.
Whether you’re new to working with intimate content or already have years of experience, this is a space to broaden your knowledge, sharpen your practice, and learn from others working in the field.
You don’t need to work in film to join. You’ll take as much from it as anyone else, and use it at work and at home.
What you get
Create intimate scenes with care.
Discover more effectiveness through empathy, and learn how caring about people makes your work more meaningful.
Resolve complex problems with ease.
Confidently navigate through difficult conversations and discover more connection in your relationships.
Learn to work with boundaries, and set your own.
The workshop is also self-exploratory. What you learn about yourself is what lets you look after someone else.
Build your work around it.
Modules on identity and marketing help you turn what you learn into a practice or a business.

How it works
About six hours a week.
Audio lessons
Two a week
Short audio lessons, which Izzy calls podcasts, introduce each module.
Solo work
On your own time
Try the exercises on your own and write about what you notice.
Group work
Tuesdays and Thursdays · 6–8 PM CET
Two live calls a week with Izzy: role play with real scenarios, questions, and feedback.
Feedback
With your cohort
You give and receive feedback on each other’s work, in a small group you get to know.
Guest lectures
Three per cohort
Live talks from people in film, psychology and sex research, and from alumni. Masterclass students also get the recordings.
1-on-1 coaching
Masterclass
Five 60-minute coaching calls with Izzy, scheduled on your own time.
Learning through exploration and reflection
The workshop is deliberately light on content. Most of it is guided exercises: on your own, with a partner from your cohort, and in the group.
Treat them as explorations of your own. They are simple but not easy.
Five weeks

Alumni reviews
Two people from past cohorts on the role plays, in their own words.
If you’re playing the performer who feels uncomfortable, it forces you to put yourself in their shoes and start thinking about how hard it is to actually say no.
Niccolo Grasso Filmmaker and editor, Italy
It’s really about practicing your reactions in these different situations to then feel more confident when a new situation arises.

Your teacher
Izabela Bartyzel
I founded RedCheeks Academy, where I teach a grounded, ethical approach to intimacy in storytelling, whether it’s adult film, mainstream media, or the blurry space in between.
I’ve worked with intimate scenes for more than a decade and prepared hundreds of performers for their shoots. Today I work on film sets as a producer and intimacy coordinator.
Frequently asked questions
I don't make films. Is this for me?
Yes. The workshop is for anyone, and you don’t have to work in film. We’ve had psychologists and many other people in past cohorts, because the workshop is also self-exploratory.
Are there any prerequisites?
No formal ones. You’ll get the most out of it if you’re committed to doing the work, willing to be open, and clear on the part of your practice you want to work on.
Will the workshop run again?
Yes. In 2027 it runs four times: January 18 – February 18, April 5 – May 6, June 14 – July 15, and September 6 – October 7.
Can my employer pay for it?
Often, yes. Many organizations have a budget for professional development. If your employer needs anything from us to approve it, write to academy@redcheeks.org.
Is a payment plan offered?
Yes. Pay in full, or in three or five monthly installments. Questions: academy@redcheeks.org.
How much time does it take?
About six hours a week: four hours of live calls (two hours on Tuesday and two on Thursday), and about two hours of homework and feedback.
