Two of the big lessons from Intimacy on Screen, with writing prompts and role plays that you can do at your own pace. For anyone who works with intimate scenes, and anyone who wants to know their boundaries better, learn more about consent, and explore their intimate self.
RedCheeks Academy presents Permission Practice · a self-paced short course drawn from the Intimacy on Screen workshop · nine audio lessons · writing prompts and role plays · lifetime access · most people finish in about a week · €250 + VAT
We all mean well. Good intentions aren’t always enough.
The skills Izzy teaches for film sets work the same way in everyday life.
Intimacy is a core thing for us humans. Knowing what our boundaries are, and how to set them clearly, helps us move through the world a little better. By exploring intimacy, we explore ourselves and learn about our wants and needs.
Permission Practice takes lessons from the set and helps you use them in your day-to-day life: setting your boundaries clearly, and asking for consent more comfortably.
Every lesson has the same rhythm
- Listen
- Write
- Get feedback
- Reflect
- Role play
Nine lessons
Light on content, heavy on practice. Start when you’re ready, return when you need to.
- The key to ethical communication Why communication is the most important skill in ethical production, and how empathy, clarity and respect for autonomy help in every situation.
- Open questions, active listening and silence Instead of making assumptions, form a hypothesis and ask. And sometimes, stay quiet.
- Reflective listening, professional language and power Reflect back what you heard in your own words, so the other person can clarify or add more.
- Consent is not a one-time agreement The fact that I consent to something today does not mean I consent to the same thing tomorrow.
- Feelings versus consent Asking how someone feels doesn’t tell you anything about their consent or boundaries. And enthusiasm only tells you they’re excited.
- Boundaries are not walls The line between what you would and wouldn’t do changes with age, mood and environment. Never assume anything about someone else’s boundaries.
- The limits of last-minute changes An intimacy coordinator can’t appear on the day of the shoot and magically choreograph the ethics into the scene.
- Deep consent and safety mechanisms Surface, scene and deep consent, and simple safe words: a traffic light, a single word, or a double tap.
- What ethical pre-production looks like If you take care of pre-production, there’s a good chance you’ll be a quiet observer on the shoot day. These are the steps.
You can do it alone, with a friend, or share your reflections in the open RedCheeks Discord. There is no instructor feedback in this course.

Questions
Do I need to work in film to take this?
No. It’s for anyone who works with intimate scenes, on screen, on stage or behind the scenes, and for anyone who wants to know their own boundaries better. The examples come from film sets, and the skills carry over to everyday life.
Do I need a partner?
No. You can complete the full course solo. Some exercises include optional partner versions, and you’re welcome to do them with a friend, collaborator, or co-learner.
Is it the same as the workshop?
Not exactly. Permission Practice draws from the foundations of the workshop, but it’s condensed, self-paced, and has no live calls or instructor feedback. Many people take it first and join the full workshop later, and the €250 counts toward the workshop fee.
Do I get a certificate?
No. A piece of paper won’t change how you work. The course is light on content and heavy on practice.
Does my access expire?
No. You have lifetime access to the course, including any future updates. Start when you’re ready. Return when you need to.
