Who we are

RedCheeks is a business registered in the Netherlands, founded by Izabela Bartyzel. Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number 86933868, VAT number NL004328658B67, Celebesstraat 35, 1094 EM Amsterdam, the Netherlands. We run two websites: redcheeks.org (the podcast, the Love Letter, the free lesson and the workshop pages) and learn.redcheeks.org (where you buy courses and take them). This policy covers both.

What we collect, and why

When you apply for the workshop: your name, email, the city and country you’re in, your answers, and anything optional you choose to add (phone number, role, website, how you heard of us). We use it to decide on your application and to talk to you about it. The questions about ethnicity and pronouns are optional. If you answer them, we use them only to understand who applies, so we can make the workshop more inclusive.

When you sign up for the Love Letter or the free lesson: your name and email. We use them to send you what you signed up for. Every email has a link to unsubscribe.

When you buy a course: your name, email, billing details and the transaction. We use them to process the payment, give you access, and keep the records Dutch tax law requires.

When you take a course: your account and your progress, such as which lessons you’ve finished.

When you visit the sites: your IP address, device and browser, and which pages you visit, through cookies and analytics. We use this to see what works and to measure our ads.

When you contact us by email, on Discord or through a call: what you send us.

We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Our legal basis

We process your data to deliver what you asked for (an application, a course, an email), to meet legal obligations such as tax records, because we have a legitimate interest in running and improving the sites, or because you gave consent, for example to marketing cookies or to the optional questions on the application. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Who else handles your data

• Wedos (Czech Republic) hosts both websites.
• WooCommerce, WooPayments and Stripe process payments on learn.redcheeks.org.
• MailerLite sends the Love Letter, the free lesson and course emails.
• Google Analytics and Jetpack Stats (Automattic) measure visits.
• Meta (the Facebook pixel) on learn.redcheeks.org measures our ads.
• Cookiebot manages your cookie choices on learn.redcheeks.org.
• Adobe Fonts and Google Fonts load the typefaces, which means they see your IP address.
• Zoom runs the live workshop calls, and Discord hosts the community.
• Spotify plays podcast episodes embedded on the site.

Some of these companies are outside the European Union. They work under the EU’s standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard. We never sell your data.

Cookies

We use cookies to make the sites work (logging in, the cart and checkout), to remember your progress in a course, to measure visits and to measure our ads. On both sites you choose which cookies you accept in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice any time on the cookie policy page. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser.

How long we keep it

Payment records: seven years, as Dutch tax law requires. Course accounts: until you ask us to delete them. Email subscriptions: until you unsubscribe. Applications: up to two years, so we can consider you for a later cohort, or until you ask us to delete them sooner.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to get a copy, or to object to or limit how we use it. Write to info@redcheeks.org and we’ll answer within a month. If you’re not happy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
